Frequently asked questions

How many gunas are needed for a good match?

Traditionally 18 out of 36 is the minimum, 18 to 24 is considered average, 25 to 32 is very good and above 32 is excellent. The score is one part of the picture; doshas and the full charts also matter.

What are the eight kootas in Ashtakoot matching?

Varna (1), Vashya (2), Tara (3), Yoni (4), Graha Maitri (5), Gana (6), Bhakoot (7) and Nadi (8). The numbers are the maximum points each one can give, adding up to 36.

Does the reading check Manglik dosha?

Yes. Along with the guna score, the reading looks at Manglik (Mangal) dosha, Nadi dosha and Bhakoot dosha, and notes when a dosha is cancelled or softened.

What if we do not know the exact birth time?

Use the closest time you know. Gun Milan depends mostly on the Moon's Nakshatra, which changes about once a day, so a small error usually does not change the score. Dosha checks are more accurate with an exact time.

Can I get the Gun Milan report in Hindi?

Yes. Switch the site language to हिं in the menu before you generate the reading and the report is written in Hindi.
